OTHER THEATRE: Mr. Marton's international career started in 1974 in Germany at the National Theatre of Weimar. He has directed for the National Theatre of Finland, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Habima (National Theatre of Israel), Barbican (London), Santa Fe Stages, Court Theatre (Chicago), and The Abbey Theatre (Dublin). His productions have been seen in more than 40 cities all over the world, including Atlanta, Belgrade, Berlin, Budapest, Kiev, Moscow, Nancy, Prague, Saint Petersburg and Vienna. He has been the Artistic Director of the Vígszínház in Budapest since 1987.

AWARDS: The Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, the Pro Budapest Award and the Kossuth Prize for the Hungarian Republic. Dora Awards: Three Sisters (Best Production); Platonov (Best Production, Best Director); The Wild Duck (The Abbey Theatre, Dublin, Best Director Irish Times Theatre Awards).

RECENT CREDITS: Directed the critically-acclaimed production of Mozart's The Magic Flute with set design by Michael Levine.
