Curtain Up is a program that provides youth the opportunity to develop a connection with other young people, artists and the professional theatre community at large. The group experiences hands-on workshops with Soulpepper artists and live performances. Each workshop explores the themes of the play and a specific aspect of theatre creation such as acting, playwriting, directing, design or technical theatre.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

The March Break Program invites youth to work with Soulpepper artists for six days to develop their creative ideas and performance skills through acting and creation work. The program is for youth ages 16-19 who are interested in theatre and collaboration.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

Soulpepper’s City Youth Academy is a six-week intensive summer training program for A-list young artists in Toronto (ages 16-19). Ten students this summer will be given six weeks of skills training and artistic development as integrated members of the company. Training will be offered in voice and movement as well as specific artistic projects including scene study, improvisation, musical creation, spoken word, and writing. Each participant will be paired with an artist-mentor from the Soulpepper Ensemble.

The program is free and each participant will receive $385/week.

Applications for the 2015 City Youth Academy are available to teacher-nominated students from Soulpepper’s catchment area Secondary Schools (within 10km from the Young Centre for the Performing Arts).

The Leading Ladies Program is dedicated to the development of young female artists (ages 16-19). This program provides an all-female creative environment where young women can comfortably express themselves and work collectively through theatre.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

The Mainstage Men Program is an opportunity for young men (ages 16-19) to work together in an all-male artistic environment. This program allows boys to explore the many dimensions of who they are as artists.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.
