Curtain Up is a program that provides youth the opportunity to develop a connection with other young people, artists and the professional theatre community at large. The group experiences hands-on workshops with Soulpepper artists and live performances. Each workshop explores the themes of the play and a specific aspect of theatre creation such as music, acting, improvisation, technical theatre, design and directing.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

The March Break Program is a program that invites youth to work with Soulpepper artists for six days to develop their creative ideas through acting and playwriting. The program is for youth ages 16-19 who are interested in acting and playwriting, collaboration and working in a creative atmosphere.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

Program Dates: Saturday, March 8, Monday-Friday, March 10-14, 2014, 11am-5pm

This six-week intensive program will offer ten young people (ages 16-19) from across the city performance training led by the Soulpepper Resident Artists. Following the example of the Soulpepper Academy, these young people will be given six paid weeks of skills training and artistic development as integrated, contracted members of the company. Mornings will be spent training the voice and body, and afternoons will be taken up with specific artistic projects including, but not limited to, scene study, improvisation, musical creation, spoken word, and writing. Also, each participant will be paired with an artist-mentor from the company.

The program is free and each participant will receive a fee of $385/week.

Program Dates: July 7 - August 15, 2014 (Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm daily)

The Leading Ladies Program is dedicated to the development of young female artists (ages 16-19). This program provides an all-female creative environment which young women can comfortably express themselves and work collectively through theatre.

The program is free and we provide a $20 cash allowance per day to each participant for meal and transportation costs.

The Mainstage Men Program is an opportunity for young men (ages 16-19) to work together in an all-male artistic environment. This program allows boys to explore the many dimensions of who they are as artists.
