Soulpepper’s annual Queer Youth Cabaret is back! On June 20, 21 and 22, twelve selected artists will perform short original solo or duo pieces (narrative-based, movement, music/song, drag, comedy, etc) for live audiences directed by our Academy Graduate Will Dao. Leading up to the final showcase, they will receive writing and performance support from established queer artists. In addition, each artist will receive a $500 honorarium for their participation in the program.
Queer Youth Cabaret is an opportunity for young LGBTQI2S+ artists in the early stages of their career to develop and showcase their artistic voice in a safe and welcoming environment.

Who is this for?
Soulpepper is looking for participants who:
- Are LGBTQI2S+ (Two-spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Trans, Queer, Non-Binary, Intersex, as well as all other identities across the sexuality and gender continuum)
- Are interested in live solo or duo performance
- Are 30 years old and under*
- Will commit to all rehearsal dates out loud
*Age guideline is not an absolute.
IMPORtant Dates
Rehearsals: To be held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday starting May 6th. Time of day will be decided based on performer availability.
Tech week: June 17 - 20
Public performances: June 20, June 21 and June 22 at 7:30 PM
All rehearsals and program activities will take place in person at Soulpepper.
