Leah-Simone Bowen is a Toronto based writer, producer and director. As a playwright, she has been in residence at the Stratford Festival of Canada, Playwright's Workshop Montreal, Cahoots Theatre and she is the former Artistic Producer at Obsidian Theatre, the largest Black performing arts company in Canada. Her work has been featured in The Canadian Theatre Review, CBC Arts and The National Post. Her plays include, Code Word: Time, The Hallway, and The Flood which was recently published by Playwright’s Canada Press in 2018. She is the creator and co-host of the hit CBC podcast The Secret Life of Canada which looks at the untold and undertold history of the country. Born in Alberta, her family hails from Barbados W.I. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s theatre program.
