Public Programming

Soulpepper's public programming is an open invitation into a hub of culture and creativity in the Distillery District. Through year-round free and accessible offerings, we create space for Torontonians to gather, connect, and take part in the life of the theatre.

This programming is a place to encounter new ideas and perspectives, build skills and knowledge, and follow your creative instincts. As part of Soulpepper’s commitment to strengthening civic life through the arts, it reflects our belief that theatre can be a space not just to watch, but to participate.

What's On

Soulpepper continues to reimagine what an arts institution can be—an open, welcoming space where creativity and connection thrive. At a time when loneliness in Toronto is at an all-time high, we believe the arts have an important role to play in bringing people together. This work is about lowering barriers, fostering a sense of belonging, and ensuring that more people across the city can access the transformative power of artistic expression.

- Gideon Arthurs, Executive Director

Many people who take part in Soulpepper’s public programming live in the surrounding vertical neighbourhoods, where opportunities for connection can be limited. It’s a powerful thing to witness neighbours meeting for the first time through a workshop or event, and to see those small moments of connection grow into something more.
