The Training Room

The Training Room provides accessible artist training regardless of professional experience from leading Canadian and International Theatre Artist-Instructors.

Designing the Revolution with the Associated Designers of Canada

In partnership with Soulpepper Theatre’s Training Room, ADC will host a series of workshops that create specificity in education that meets the unique challenges designers face. Workshop series begins in November with more in the new year. In Person.

Designing for Disability

Designing for Disability led by Jessica Watkin, a multidisciplinary artist and disability advocate, will lead this conversation on recognizing ableism, common misconceptions of disability and how to identify systemic barriers. We will talk about what we can do, as designers, to integrate and support accommodations, and to start to evolve our design practices with an informed lens toward better equity. There will be time for discussion and questions after this 90 minute workshop. ASL Interpretation is available on request.

Relaxed Performances for Designers

Monday December 6

Relaxed Performances for Designers with Marjorie Chan
Have you wondered, as a designer, what relaxed performances mean to you? Have you ever felt ill-equipped to help create them with your team? Learn more about relaxed performances, how to prepare and what questions to ask to help you adjust your designs, or to think about it from the beginning of your process. Marjorie Chan leads us through an introductory session of what to expect when creating Relaxed performances. ASL Interpretation is available on request.

There is a limit of 20 participants. Sign-up now through the ADC website to avoid disappointment.

As part of the Young Centre’s Covid policy, anyone entering the building must show proof of vaccination. This will be checked upon arrival. While in the building, masks must stay on at all times unless actively eating or drinking.
