Originally from Manitoba, violinist and violist, Amanda Penner, has established herself as a freelance musician and educator in Toronto. Amanda uses a diverse skillset to explore music from a variety of genres, bringing her experiences as a chamber musician, symphony player, band mate and collaborator to each performance. With a lifelong interest in the the stories and dynamics that shape peoples’ experience of well-being and expressions of creativity, Amanda recently graduated from the University of Toronto’s Master of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma & Resiliency program. As she moves into new ways of working with others, she seeks to find deeper connections between the arts and mental health.
