Andrew Iles
A graduate from the University of Windsor’s B.F.A. in Acting program (2015) and the Stratford Festival’s Birmingham Conservatory (2017), Andrew has worked in Theatre, TV/Film, the music industry for the past 17 years. TV: What we do in the Shadows, Reign, and The Boys.
Theatre: Henry VIII and The Neverending Story (2019), Three Tall Women (2021), Hamlet-911 (2022), King Lear (2023), Romeo & Juliet and Twelfth Night (2024), all at the Stratford Festival.
Where are you in your artistic journey at the moment? What are you excited about now that you are accepted into the Academy? What do you hope to learn during your time at Soulpepper?
"I’ve developed for quite some time outside of this community and I’m eager to create with Toronto’s best. I’ve been acting professionally for 10 years, from film/tv to classical theatre. I’ve played in blues, rock, funk and soul bands for over 16 years, recording and producing on several albums. It’s time to fuse my two disciplines and see what comes. I hope to learn more about who I am and what I have to say in the world of the arts."
