Award-winning Tap Dancer and Performer Travis Knights will give Soulpepper audiences an exclusive screening of a short documentary about the making of Trial of Uncle Tom, his latest piece in development that explores the legacy of African-American tap dancer Bill Robinson, representations of Blackness & anti-Blackness in American entertainment and culture, and its impact on Knights, and the art form of tap dancing.
The short doc will be followed by a discussion with Soulpepper's Artistic Director Weyni Mengesha about Travis' artistic process making art out of his lived experience.
