



CALL FOR APPLICANTS:
This program, designed for participants aged 16 to 18 years old, explores theatrical storytelling through games, writing, improvisation, and collective creation. Participants will see a performance of Soulpepper’s production of The Comeuppance by award-winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. This hilarious and compelling play, its themes, characters and theatrical techniques, will be the inspiration for participants’ own artistic exploration.
To apply, please write a short paragraph (about 250 words) explaining why you’re interested in taking the course. Feel free to share what excites you most about theatre, your past experiences, and the sources of your theatrical inspiration.
A total of 10 applicants will be selected to participate in this program.

Paula Wing is a playwright, translator, and teacher. This year she had 2 plays on stage: Wicked Nix, her adaptation of the book by Lena Coakley, at Young People’s Theatre and hertranslation of Stefano Massini’s Intractable Woman at Brandeis University. Roadkill, her original play for teen audiences will be produced by Roseneath Theatre in their 2026/27 season. Paula has been a story consultant for the Calgary Stampede Museum, and has written program notes for productions at Soulpepper Theatre for more than 15 years. Her teaching takes her across the province with the Gryffon Trio’s Listen Up program. She has taught playwriting at Tarragon Theatre for more than 10 years, most recently she facilitated the National Young Playwrights Unit. Paula is a Sessional Professor of Writing and Acting at the University of Windsor and the University of Waterloo and for the past twelve years she has been the creative writing instructor at the Native Men’s Residence in Toronto.
