Movie Night Double Feature: Monster & Mirror

Join Soulpepper and our programming partner Sleepless Cinema for one of our quarterly movie night double feature screenings. This edition spotlights heartfelt coming-of-age stories: Hirokazu Kore-eda's Monster (2023) and Faith Montoya's short film Mirror (2025). 

Monster: When her young son, Minato, starts to behave strangely, his mother feels that there is something wrong. Discovering that a teacher is responsible, she storms into the school demanding to know what's going on. But as the story unfolds through the eyes of mother, teacher and child, the truth gradually emerges. 
Presented in Japanese with English subtitles.

Mirror: While working on a class assignment, seventeen-year-old Jay begins to question their gender identity and find acceptance despite the challenges.

General admission. Doors open at 6:30pm. Screening takes place in the Cabaret studio at the back of the atrium on the main floor of the building. Seating arrangement is flexible and accommodates mobility devices.
