Community Movie Night: Romeo + Juliet

In director Baz Luhrmann’s contemporary take on William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, the feuding Montague and Capulet families are real estate moguls and gangsters in the sweltering suburb of Verona Beach, where Romeo and Juliet fall in love and secretly wed. 

The neon-washed adaptation is still lauded, analyzed and referenced 30 years later for its iconic soundtrack, costumes and editing, firmly positioning Romeo + Juliet as a timeless cult classic.
