CURTAIN UP 2018
Experience theatre-based workshops led by Soulpepper Artists and see Soulpepper plays on stage!
PROGRAM DETAILS:
We are looking for participants for Soulpepper’s Curtain Up program who:
- Are between the ages of 16-19
- Are able to commit to some or all sessions listed below
- Are interested in exploring acting, music, and/or social change through theatre
- Want to participate in hands-on workshops, see Soulpepper plays and attend talkbacks with artists
PROGRAM COST:
FREE! In addition, Soulpepper will give each participant $20 per session for food and transportation costs.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
Each session includes a workshop, meal break, performance and talkback with artists:
Workshop: Creating Social Change Through Theatre
Date: Saturday, May 26, 10:30am-5:00pm
Play: August Wilson's Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
*Please note that this play contains mature themes, language and subject matter
Workshop: Acting
Date: Saturday, June 2, 10:00am-5:00pm
Play: La Bête by David Hirson
Workshop: Music
Date: Saturday, July 7, 10:30am-5:00pm
Play: The Secret Chord: A Leonard Cohen Experience created by Frank Cox-O’Connell, Marni Jackson, and Mike Ross
